Works at Tahiti Airport – New Domestic Flight Arrangements

Dear Partner ‘Ia Ora Na,

As part of the redevelopment of the domestic boarding area, Tahiti Airport has recently launched a major construction project, scheduled for completion in November 2026.

The goal of this project is to modernize and expand the domestic boarding area, with the following key improvements:

  • Installation of air conditioning

  • Expansion of the waiting area

  • Addition of two new boarding gates, allowing up to four domestic flights to be handled simultaneously

Project Phasing:

  • Phase 1 (June 2025 to April 2026): Renovation of the west side of the area

  • Phase 2 (April to November 2026): Renovation of the east side of the area

During the works, the domestic boarding area will be reduced to half its usual capacity, leading to several restrictions:

  • Temporary closure of the food court

  • No restroom facilities available

  • Limited seating, prioritized for elderly passengers, unaccompanied minors (UMs), and passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs)

While check-in remains at the usual counters, two separate boarding routes are implemented:

Via the international boarding area

(using a dedicated lane without immigration control):

  • Air Tahiti flights to the Austral islands, Monday to Thursday, with departures up to 11:00 AM
  • Air Tahiti flights to the Austral islands on Fridays, with departures up to 2:00 PM
  • All Air Moana flights, Saturday to Thursday, with departures up to 11:00 AM
  • All Air Moana flights on Fridays, with departures up to 2:00 PM

Via the domestic boarding area

For all other flights. Passengers will be asked to wait outside the area, prior to the security checkpoint, where restroom and dining facilities remain available.

Passengers are requested to be present at their designated boarding area 45 minutes before departure. The usual pickup times for guest transfers from hotels and guesthouses on the island remain unchanged.

Tahiti Airport, which is overseeing these works, is installing clearly visible signage throughout the airport to proactively inform affected passengers.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We thank you for your understanding during this modernization project, which aims to enhance passenger comfort and service in the long term.
